Jeonju City Provides Accompaniment and Interpretation Services for COVID-19 Vaccination to Foreigners
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] On the 12th, Jeonju City announced that it is providing accompaniment and interpretation services for foreign residents who are having difficulties with COVID-19 vaccination and advance reservations.
This measure comes as foreigners who are not familiar with Korean find it difficult to make online advance reservations for vaccination, and also face communication difficulties when visiting vaccination centers or hospitals after making reservations.
Accordingly, the city is supporting vaccination accompaniment services for foreigners in cooperation with the Jeonju Multicultural Migrant Plus Center and the Jeonbuk Migrant Women Counseling Center.
Foreigners who wish to be accompanied can apply by visiting or calling the Jeonju Multicultural Migrant Plus Center or the Jeonbuk Migrant Women Counseling Center before their vaccination date.
In addition, the city provides three-party telephone interpretation services for foreigners to fill out COVID-19 vaccination preliminary examination forms and conduct pre-examinations, and also supports translation services for online advance reservations.
Meanwhile, there are 8,633 registered foreigners residing in Jeonju City, accounting for about 28% of all registered foreigners in Jeollabuk-do Province, and it is known that 13,184 foreigners reside in Gunsan, Iksan, and Wanju, which are adjacent to the city’s living area.
