3rd Electorate Vote Share 28%... Lee Jae-myung "Did Not Predict That Part, Takes It as a Warning"
3rd Electorate Vote: Lee Jae-myung 28.30%... Lowest Compared to 1st and 2nd Electorate
Lee Jae-myung "A Humble Reminder to Work Hard"
[Asia Economy Reporters Oh Ju-yeon, Jeon Jin-young] Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, said on the 10th regarding the results of the 3rd electoral college vote, "I take it as a warning to not be complacent and to work diligently with humility."
On the same day, Lee secured a majority win with a cumulative vote share of 50.29% in the Democratic Party's presidential primary final results, advancing directly to the general election. However, in the 3rd electoral college vote announced that day, Lee received only 28.30%, marking his lowest score, which was the exact opposite of the results from the Democratic Party's regional primaries and the 1st and 2nd electoral college votes held so far. Former leader Lee Nak-yeon received overwhelming support with 62.37%.
Regarding this, Lee said in an interview with MBN, "The 3rd electoral college involved participation from the general public, which we did not anticipate," adding, "I take it as a warning to not be complacent and to work diligently with humility."
In an interview with JTBC, he also mentioned, "The people do not always give only rewards. Sometimes they give warnings as well," and added, "I will take this as an opportunity to work harder and with a more humble attitude."
Concerning the 'One Team' concept that will be emphasized in the Democratic Party's general election stage, Lee said, "Ultimately, the Democratic Party members and supporters are not aiming to make a specific individual president, but rather to establish the 4th Democratic government and hope that these reforms continue," and added, "Because there is the legitimacy of the 'One Team,' we will ultimately unite our strength."
