The Human Rights Council, composed of 47 member states, passed the resolution on "Human Rights to a Safe, Clean, Healthy and Sustainable Environment" on the 8th (local time) with 43 countries in favor and 4 abstentions. The countries that abstained were China, India, Japan, and Russia, and no country opposed the resolution.
On the same day, the Human Rights Council urged countries to implement policies for biodiversity and ecosystem protection, and also resolved to appoint a special rapporteur to address the impact of climate change on human rights.
