The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced on the 8th that Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov were selected as the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize laureates.
The Nobel Committee stated, "The prize was awarded for efforts to safeguard freedom of expression, a precondition for democracy and lasting peace."
