[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Yoon Seok-yeol, a preliminary candidate who secured a spot in the 'top 4' of the People Power Party presidential primary, fired volleys at the ruling party on the 8th, saying, "Thieves use the people's taxes for vote-buying only during elections."
On the afternoon of the same day, Yoon visited the party office in Yeongju, Gyeongbuk, and raised his voice targeting the government and Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung, while being welcomed by party members and supporters.
Yoon said, "The Democratic Party government, which advocated the Candlelight Revolution and reform, has become tainted by corruption, and even the judicial system that controls corruption has collapsed," adding, "Despite the massive corruption scandal like Daejang-dong, they are just standing by. If it were not serious, why would the people be taking the lead in a 10 million special prosecutor signature campaign?"
He also said, "I never dreamed of going into politics, but I realized it firsthand as Prosecutor General. I could no longer stand by," and vowed, "I will stake everything to save the country."
