[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The ‘Daesun Public Interest Foundation’ has generously donated 75 million won in scholarships to university students in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions.
Daesun Public Interest Foundation, established by Daesun Juzo, a local Busan company under BN Group, announced on the 8th that it awarded the ‘Daesun Scholarship’ to 75 students majoring in social welfare at 25 universities in the region.
The ‘15th Daesun Scholarship Award Ceremony’ held that day took place non-face-to-face at the BN Group conference room in Guseo-dong, Geumjeong-gu, Busan, with attendance by Cho Seong-je, chairman of Daesun Public Interest Foundation, Jo Woo-hyun, CEO of Daesun Juzo, and other officials.
Since 2007, the ‘Daesun Scholarship,’ awarded annually for 15 years, selects ‘prospective social workers’ who excel academically and serve as role models despite difficult circumstances, providing scholarships to help them focus on their studies.
Through the Daesun Public Interest Foundation, Daesun Juzo has supported a total of 1,817 students with scholarships amounting to 1.179 billion won.
Cho Seong-je, chairman of Daesun Public Interest Foundation, said, “It is regrettable that we could not meet again this year and had to hold the ceremony non-face-to-face. I hope the Daesun Scholarship will be the foundation for local talents dreaming of becoming excellent social workers to realize their hopes.”
Daesun Public Interest Foundation is Busan’s first private public interest foundation, established in 2005 with a full investment of 4 billion won by Daesun Juzo, a representative local company in Busan celebrating its 91st anniversary this year, for ESG management.
