Gwangju Dong-gu, Senior Longevity Photo Shoot Receives 'Positive Response'

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The Dongmyeong-dong Community Security Council (Chairman Yoon Nam-chul) in Dong-gu, Gwangju (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 7th that they held a longevity portrait photo shoot event for 15 low-income elderly residents in the area.
The longevity portrait photo shoot was conducted on the 2nd floor of the Dongmyeong-dong Administrative Welfare Center, with volunteers including the Dongmyeong Church Photo Volunteer Group (led by Yang Yi-ho of Haegwang Studio), the Hairdressing Volunteer Group (led by Kim Jin-sook of Hanul Hair Salon), and seven students from the Beauty and Cosmetology Department of Gwangju University.
Yang Yi-ho, the representative who assisted with the photo shoot, said, “I felt rewarded to be able to capture the beautiful appearances of elderly people who had not been able to have their photos taken due to financial difficulties and other reasons,” adding, “I hope to provide photo shoots for more elderly people whenever possible in the future.”
The photos taken this time will be retouched, made into frames, and delivered to the elderly.
Kim Hye-ran, head of Dongmyeong-dong, said, “I am grateful to the Dongmyeong Church Photo Volunteer Group and local hair salons who willingly participated in the photo volunteer work for the elderly,” and added, “We will continue to promote unique sharing projects in Dongmyeong-dong that residents can truly feel.”
