According to the police on the 7th, the Naju Police Station in Jeollanam-do decided not to prosecute welfare center director Mr. A, who was booked on charges of sexual intercourse and molestation by force in the course of duty, and closed the case with a 'no charges' decision.
The case came to public attention after a petition titled "My wife was raped by her workplace superior" was posted on the Blue House's national petition board on July 22. The petition received 20,145 signatures before it was closed.
The petitioner, who identified himself as the husband of social worker Ms. B, stated, "Mr. A, who is about 10 years younger than my wife, used his authority as the director from early April to repeatedly rape my wife and force her into acts of sexual nature multiple times."
He added, "My wife became extremely depressed due to this incident and attempted suicide, which deeply shocked me and our three young children who are still in elementary school. Our peaceful family turned into hell in an instant," urging strict punishment for Mr. A, saying, "Because of one depraved man's rotten lust, our entire family, including our young children, is falling into endless darkness."
Prior to the petition, social worker Ms. B had filed a complaint with the police in June, alleging that from April to June, Mr. A used his authority as director to repeatedly sexually assault her in a vehicle and office, and forced her into acts of sexual nature.

In the conversations disclosed by Mr. A, Ms. B said things like "See you tomorrow, honey," "Office wife signing off, see you tomorrow," "Love you," "I usually like skinship and can't do many things alone," and "Office honey, drive safely."
Mr. A stated while releasing the conversations, "I did not want to reveal this to the world, but I am posting it as a defensive measure out of necessity," and claimed, "My unfaithful wife disguised herself as a sexual assault victim to demand a large settlement."
The police later analyzed recorded phone calls automatically saved on Mr. A's phone but found no evidence indicating coercion such as threats or violence.
