Bucheon-si Issues Administrative Order for COVID-19 Testing of Construction Site Workers
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City, Gyeonggi Province, has issued an administrative order mandating COVID-19 diagnostic testing (PCR) for all workers at construction sites within the region until the 17th of this month.
This administrative order aims to proactively prevent large-scale cluster infections following the occurrence of COVID-19 infections at construction sites.
All workers, including office staff, daily workers, and subcontractor employees on site, regardless of vaccination status, must visit the nearest screening clinic and undergo proactive COVID-19 testing by the 17th.
However, construction site workers who have undergone proactive testing since the 18th of last month are exempt from this administrative order.
Failure to comply with the administrative order may result in a fine of up to 2 million KRW according to relevant laws, and if infection spreads due to violation of the order, claims for damages may be filed.
