Prolonged COVID-19 Causes Blood Supply Shortage... Gwangju and Jeonnam Residents Continue Donating Blood Donation Certificates

According to Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital on the 7th, the Gwangju Jeonnam branch of the Korea Leukemia Pediatric Cancer Association recently donated 2,000 blood donation certificates to the hospital for children suffering from leukemia, pediatric cancer, and rare blood disorders.
The Leukemia Pediatric Cancer Association carries out treatment and family support, education, and cultural activity support projects for families of children with leukemia and pediatric cancer.
Kim Bonghak, Secretary General of the Gwangju Jeonnam branch of the Leukemia Pediatric Cancer Association, said, “Pediatric cancer is the leading cause of death from childhood diseases, but if treated appropriately at an early stage, 80% can survive,” adding, “We ask for much interest and love so that children with pediatric cancer do not give up on recovery and growth and can return to school healthily.”
Earlier, 10 public institutions in Naju Innovation City, including Korea Rural Community Corporation, Korea Creative Content Agency, and KEPCO KDN, delivered 376 blood donation certificates prepared through the ‘Bitgaram Love Relay Blood Donation Event.’
Also, public officials of Hwasun County held a blood donation event and prepared 200 blood donation certificates, which they donated to Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital.
