[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Gyeongsang National University Ancient Documents Library in Gyeongnam will hold the '1st Muncheongak (文泉閣) Summit' event from 1 PM to 6 PM on the 7th.
Muncheongak is another name for the Ancient Documents Library, and a summit refers to a meeting of top experts in a particular field.
The Muncheongak Summit is a forum where 10 of the most authoritative domestic experts, including researchers related to ancient documents, institutional officials, and library practitioners, participate to share various experiences and suggestions related to ancient documents and engage in discussions.
To this end, the Ancient Documents Library will hold a series of invited lectures by 10 distinguished figures in the field of ancient documents from July to September for three months to establish a Korean Studies hub institution, and from July to August, it has prepared the '2021 Gyeongnam Learning Project (1)'.
President Kwon Soon-ki said in his congratulatory speech, "The ancient documents held by the Gyeongsang National University Ancient Documents Library are valuable assets for research on the history, figures, ideas, geography, and life history of the Gyeongnam region," adding, "It is important to utilize ancient documents as cultural resources."
Library Director Ki Geun-do said, "The diverse experiences and wise words shared by the top experts in the field of ancient documents will provide very important implications and directions for Gyeongsang National University to develop as a central institution in the field of Korean Studies," emphasizing, "We will continue to hold such events in the future."
