Songpa-gu Conducts 'S/W Development Employment Training Program' Utilizing Metaverse
From the 15th, 5 Weeks of Practical Job Experience Participation as Virtual World Avatars and Professional Feedback from Current Employees Provided
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Seongsoo Park) announced that it will operate a '5-week Job Camp' using the metaverse, the first of its kind among local governments, starting from the 15th to help young job seekers thirsty for professional job experience.
Recently, due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, not only have corporate hiring trends changed, but the utilization of the virtual world platform 'metaverse' has also increased. More and more companies are using the metaverse for recruitment briefings, new employee job training, workshops, and various business meetings.
Accordingly, the district has prepared a professional employment education program using the metaverse for the first time among local governments, and through the Songpa Job Integrated Support Center, it will conduct a '5-week Job Camp' where participants can gain on-site job experience with current employees in the S/W development field.
Participants in the 5-week Job Camp will perform practical tasks over five weeks with current employees in the S/W development field in the online virtual space 'Gather Town,' gaining job experience. The major advantage is that participants engage in practical work as avatars representing their virtual selves, enhancing immersion through a more realistic job experience.
First, ▲in the 1st week, there will be a real-time 'job lecture' by a current employee of S Electronics, and ▲from the 2nd week, participants will carry out 'task execution' and receive '1:1 feedback' from current employees.
During the camp, dense feedback is provided through 'open chat rooms' and 'online classrooms,' allowing participants to understand practical terminology and overall work processes, as well as offering opportunities to identify their aptitude and job suitability.
The recruitment target is any job seeker who wants job experience in the S/W development field. Applications are open until October 10th via phone or the website of the Songpa Job Integrated Support Center or the Songpa-gu Office website. For more details, please refer to the Songpa Job Integrated Support Center website.
The Songpa Job Integrated Support Center, which runs this camp, operates various programs tailored to employment needs, such as 'Songpa Job Start' employment preparation education, 'Songpa Employment Academy' current employee job consulting, startup job training programs 'Meetup! Startup!', 'AI/VR Interview Experience Center,' and 'PT/Discussion Interview.'
Also, in early November, a 'Employment Integrated Master (Job Briefing/Employment Special Lecture)' to answer questions about employment will be held via the metaverse.
