View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] A woman accused of assaulting a passenger who picked up her mask that had fallen on the floor of a KTX train, questioning "Why did you touch my belongings?" has been sentenced to a suspended prison term.
According to the legal community on the 2nd, Judge Jeong Seongwan of the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 14 recently sentenced Ms. A (50, female), who was indicted for violating the Railroad Safety Act and assault, to 6 months in prison with a 2-year suspension.
Earlier, Ms. A was brought to trial on charges of threatening and assaulting another passenger, Ms. B (64, female), who picked up her mask that had fallen on the floor while Ms. A was sleeping in the luggage compartment of the KTX train bound for Yongsan Station, Seoul, around 8 p.m. on June 18.
Ms. A is also accused of verbally abusing and assaulting railway police officers Mr. C (45, male) and Ms. D (39, female), who arrived at the scene after a report. She allegedly called Mr. C a "you XX woman" and "damn XXX," hit his head, and bit Ms. D's right arm when they asked about the incident.

The court found all charges against Ms. A to be true. It stated, "The defendant admitted to the crime and is reflecting on her wrongdoing, and has no prior criminal record," adding, "The sentence was determined after considering various factors affecting sentencing, such as the circumstances and content of the crime, age, character, and environment."
