View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 1st that it will officially begin the demonstration of mobile collaborative robots for the application of automated manufacturing processes for automotive lamp modules in the Mobile Collaborative Robot Regulatory Free Zone in Daegu Metropolitan City.
The Daegu Regulatory Free Zone plans to sequentially conduct demonstrations within this year, starting with the automated manufacturing process, including ▲transport and loading processes ▲large product manufacturing processes ▲small batch production of various products ▲production and logistics processes, and non-face-to-face sterilization and disinfection.
Having completed product certification for collaborative robots, the Daegu Regulatory Free Zone will start demonstrations from the 1st of next month at the annex of Daegu City Hall and within the EXCO building.
This demonstration aims to establish safety standards for mobile collaborative robots. After the demonstration, when collaborative robots are deployed in manufacturing sites, it is expected that they will significantly contribute to reducing work time and increasing production efficiency in manufacturing processes such as sorting, loading, and transport, while maximizing the use of existing manufacturing processes.

Minister Kwon Chil-seung of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups stated, “The demonstration of mobile collaborative robots will realize positive ripple effects on the new industrialization of the Daegu regional economy, which has a well-established robotics industry base, and the development of related industries, and furthermore lead the smart transformation of domestic manufacturing sites.” He added, “We hope to resolve related regulations as soon as possible through rapid demonstration promotion and safety verification.”
