[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 1st, Seoul Library announced that Professor Jeong Tae-su of Korea University will hold an online lecture on the 21st under the theme "Big Data, How Is It Changing the World?: Understanding the 4th Industrial Revolution and Big Data."
In this lecture, Professor Jeong will explain what big data is, why it is important, and how it is changing the world we live in. Especially with the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution, the importance of data is being emphasized more than ever. The lecture will explore how big data, along with machine learning and artificial intelligence, is being utilized and how it is deeply influencing our lives through various examples.
Data, the core of the 4th industry, creates big data by instantly recording and massively accumulating various behaviors ranging from everyday buying and selling transactions to socio-economic environments. In daily life, it provides personalized recommendation services reflecting individual preferences, and globally, it supplies risk-safety data to declare and implement low-carbon policies for a sustainable planet.
Lee Jeong-su, Director of Seoul Library, said, "Big data changes our daily lives and provides new knowledge and perspectives to predict future societies, but it also reveals the diverse relationships and psychology of people as members of society." He added, "Through this lecture, it will be a valuable time to understand the concept and utilization of big data and to read and discover the human mind that big data presents."
