Sumuk Biennale Artist Joro-ok Captures Mokpo as a Panorama

The monochrome Mokpo work by artist Joro-ok, capturing a panoramic view of Mokpo in a harmonious black-and-white composition, can be viewed at the Biennale site.
View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Jo Ro-ok, a photographer from Mokpo, Jeonnam, is currently exhibiting panoramic photographs capturing the local scenery at the '2021 Jeonnam International Ink Biennale.'
At the biennale, which reestablishes the identity and tradition of ink painting, photographer Jo presents a vibrant monochrome through his unique perspective.
Jo commented, "I have only remembered my hometown Mokpo with my eyes for 50 years, and I hope to capture it in photographs to leave precious memories for the next 50 years."
Marking his 20th anniversary as a photographer this year, Jo expresses the philosophy of photography through new interpretations of objects.
Meanwhile, the '2021 Jeonnam International Ink Biennale' will be held until the 31st of next month at Mokpo Culture and Arts Center and Jindo Unlim Sanbang area.

Special exhibitions and city/county commemorative exhibitions involving 11 cities and counties in the province, including Gwangyang, Yeosu, Gurye, and Gangjin, as well as Gwangju City, are held together, allowing visitors to enjoy a feast of ink painting throughout the Namdo region.
