KAI Signs Contract for High-Speed Landing Craft Simulator System Development Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) announced on the 30th that it has signed a contract with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration for the "High-Speed Landing Craft (LSF-II) Simulator System Development Project."
The contract amount is a total of 29.35 billion KRW, and KAI will deliver one set of simulators, including a mock cockpit, support equipment, and training for operational personnel, by 2024.
The high-speed landing craft is a vessel deployed on large transport ships such as the Dokdo-class, performing landing operations and coastal defense missions by transporting troops, supplies, and equipment. It can achieve high-speed navigation of over 70 km/h using an air-cushion method.
To participate in this project, KAI independently developed a motion dynamics model for vessels by integrating simulation technology from the aviation sector and has filed a patent for it.
