Kang Ki-jung Proposes '7 Major Promises for Honam's Future' to Presidential Candidates
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Former Blue House Senior Secretary for Political Affairs Kang Ki-jung announced the "7 Major Presidential Election Promises Opening the Future of Honam" on the 29th and proposed that presidential candidates adopt them as win-win pledges for regional development.
Former Secretary Kang, speaking as a presenter at the "The Cube 4th Online Win-Win Forum" hosted by The Cube Policy Research Institute (Director Kim Jun-ha) the previous day, emphasized, "The new government's perspective on national balanced development will be a metropolitan mega-city."
In his presentation, he announced the 7 major presidential election promises as ▲ introduction of a heavy ion accelerator and medical city ▲ 22nd-century-style Disneyland ▲ artificial sun and green hydrogen future talent cultivation ▲ Asia Data Terminal and Phase 2 of the National Data Center ▲ national three major environmental industry climate and air cluster ▲ four major airports of Korea and a 10 million-pyeong airport city ▲ promotion of Honam HTX hydrogen metropolitan express network.
First, he proposed the introduction of a heavy ion accelerator to open the era of the "dream 4th hospital" and the creation of a medical city represented by the "Korean version of the Mayo Clinic."
He then cited the promotion of a 22nd-century-style Disneyland where virtual and reality coexist and the cultivation of future energy talents centered on artificial sun and green hydrogen.
He also suggested the establishment of the Asia Data Terminal as a data business hub and the Phase 2 construction of the National Data Center centered on the metaverse, as well as the creation of a climate and air industry cluster completing the national three environmental industry axes (Incheon land, Daegu water, Gwangju sky).
Furthermore, he proposed the creation of a 10 million-pyeong airport city that will become one of Korea's four major airports and the promotion of the Honam HTX hydrogen metropolitan express network comparable to the Seoul metropolitan GTX.
Former Secretary Kang said, "Honam has not even dared to dream big because of its small population and distance from the metropolitan area," adding, "I sincerely propose these 7 major pledges to develop Honam into a city that dreams, not a city that leaves to find dreams, and a fun city where dreams come true."
