On the recent Gwangbokjeol, a large number of late-night motorcycle gang members in Daegu were caught by the police, and one leader was ultimately arrested.
Daegu Police Agency announced on the 29th that on August 15th, during late-night hours, they apprehended 20 individuals for violating the Road Traffic Act after they caused noise and engaged in reckless driving on major roads in Daegu using motorcycles and vehicles.
Among them, the police arrested gang leader Mr. A, who was deemed to have committed serious offenses, while the others were booked without detention.
Mr. A is suspected of leading dozens of motorcycles and vehicles to occupy downtown roads and engage in reckless driving during late-night hours, serving as a gang leader multiple times since January.
Daegu Police had also arrested 32 gang members on March 1st, detaining one leader at that time.
A Daegu Police Agency official stated, "We are continuing investigations to locate the remaining 24 gang members identified among the August group."
