[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] As of the 29th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that as a result of promoting COVID-19 vaccinations, 40,766 people received the first dose, achieving 88% of the population, and 31,764 people completed vaccination, reaching 68.6%.
The county started vaccinating high-risk groups against COVID-19 from February, and since April 15, it has operated the Damyang-gun Vaccination Center, administering 24,526 doses to high-risk groups aged 75 and older, high school seniors and staff, and local government autonomous vaccinations.
At the entrusted medical institutions (17 locations) contracted for COVID-19 vaccination, 47,676 vaccinations were administered to individuals aged 18 to under 74.
Additionally, the Damyang-gun Public Health Center is conducting advance reservations for those aged 18 and older who have had vaccination opportunities but have not yet been vaccinated due to various circumstances, aiming to maximize the vaccination rate and protect citizens from COVID-19 infection.
Currently, advance reservations for COVID-19 vaccination are being accepted for unvaccinated individuals aged 18 and older. Reservations can be made through the health center until the 16th of next month, and for elderly people or foreigners who have difficulty making reservations themselves, guardians can make proxy reservations.
A county official urged, “We hope those who missed the opportunity and have not yet made a reservation or been vaccinated will participate in making a reservation for their own health and their family’s safety.”
