Kolon Runs 600km by Land and Sea to Carry Out Sharing Activities
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Kolon Group carried out sharing activities targeting students in the Ulleungdo area, who have relatively less access to educational and cultural benefits due to the unique circumstances of their regional location.
On the 29th, Kolon announced that it launched the 'We Together 2021' campaign, which is based on strong solidarity with society to live together and share together.
This sharing activity took place in Ulleungdo. Due to the prolonged impact of COVID-19, students in Ulleungdo have gradually fewer opportunities for education and cultural experiences through exchanges with the outside world. In response, Kolon is conducting sharing activities utilizing educational and facility infrastructure, strictly adhering to quarantine rules throughout the activity period.
‘Visiting Energy School, Eco Longlong,’ operated by Flower and The Little Prince, a nonprofit foundation of Kolon Group, is conducting an educational program from the 28th to the 30th, visiting all five elementary schools in Ulleungdo, allowing students to explore and experience eco-friendly energy.

The eco-friendly energy education vehicle, a 5-ton truck specially modified, traveled 600 km by land and sea from Kolon One&Only Tower in Magok Industrial Complex, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, to visit the elementary schools in Ulleungdo. Although there were several difficulties, such as narrow school access roads making vehicle entry challenging, all programs are proceeding smoothly as originally scheduled. Students experienced principles related to eco-friendly energy inside the vehicle, then participated in activities such as ‘Hydrogen Car Longlong,’ where they made hydrogen cars; ‘Sunlight Tug-of-War,’ competing with the power of electricity obtained from solar energy; and ‘Sunlight Chef,’ where they made solar cookers themselves, having hands-on time creating eco-friendly energy.
