OTT Wavve Hosts Busan Film Special Exhibition 'wavve in Busan'
[Asia Economy Reporter Joeslgina] Online video service (OTT) Wavve announced on the 29th that it will hold the Busan Film Planning Exhibition ‘wavve in Busan’ from October 1 to 22. This is the first collaborative project jointly promoted after signing a business agreement with the Busan Film Commission.
Wavve offers a total of seven works that have been submitted to or awarded at the Busan International Film Festival. These include 'Nevertheless' (Director Kim Young-jo, 2017), 'Miss Jin is Pretty' (Director Jang Hee-cheol, 2013), 'Ordinary Citizen' (Director Kim Byung-joon, 2017), 'Yeongdo' (Director Son Seung-woong, 2015), 'Subzero Wind' (Director Kim Yuri, 2019), 'Home' (Director Kim Jong-woo, 2018), and 'Shaking Waves' (Director Kim Jin-do, 2016).
These films are available through the Wavve website and application, and can be viewed without additional purchase exclusively by paid monthly subscribers. Detailed information can be found on the Busan Film Commission website.
The Busan Film Commission expects that through Wavve’s subscriber base and influence as the largest OTT platform in Korea, awareness and interest in Busan films will increase, further strengthening the foundation for screening regional films. Kim In-su, the operating committee chairman of the Busan Film Commission, stated, “We are pleased to be able to present good works to more people. As Busan films come closer to audiences, we ask for your great interest.”
Meanwhile, Wavve and the Busan Film Commission plan to continue collaborative projects to expand the screening foundation for Busan films and discover excellent content.
