Recently, domestic farmers and livestock producers have been facing difficulties due to the influx of cheap imported agricultural and livestock products and the prolonged impact of COVID-19, which has reduced large-scale supply channels such as restaurants and catering services. To resolve this situation, Baek Jong-won, CEO of The Born Korea and ambassador of NongHyup and the Korea Pork Producers Association, personally proposed the business agreement to BGF Retail.
Starting from October, BGF Retail will introduce food products using agricultural and livestock products and processed foods provided by NongHyup and the Korea Pork Producers Association at over 15,000 CU stores nationwide. NongHyup and the Korea Pork Producers Association will supply high-quality ingredients such as newly harvested rice, seasonal vegetables, and Korean pork that CU customers can trust.
During October, customers who purchase at least one of the five types of CU lunchboxes containing Korean pork and collect stamps on CU’s membership app ‘Pocket CU’ will be entered into a draw to win Korean pork gift sets.
