KOLMAR Korea Sweeps Top 3 Global Design Awards with 'Eco-Friendly Paper Tube'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Kolmar Korea's paper tube packaging has won all three of the world's top design awards.
Kolmar Korea announced on the 29th that its eco-friendly cosmetic container, the paper tube, was named a finalist at the U.S. 'IDEA 2021'. IDEA is the most prestigious design award worldwide, hosted by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), and is regarded as the 'Academy Award' of the design world. The paper tube had previously won main awards at the IF Design Award in Germany and the Red Dot Design Award, both considered among the world's top three design competitions along with IDEA.
The paper tube is an eco-friendly cosmetic container that reduces plastic usage by 80% in the main body, except for the cap where plastic use is unavoidable. The used paper tube can be torn along the perforation line to easily use the remaining cosmetic product inside the container, and it is also easy to separate and dispose of as paper.
