Naju-si Promotes Agricultural Machinery Support Projects Including Agricultural Drones
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Han-hyeok] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 24th that it is promoting the ‘Agricultural Product Production Cost Reduction Support Project,’ which provides agricultural machinery to address labor shortages in rural areas and enhance agricultural competitiveness.
This year’s project includes a total of 31 units: 2 unmanned helicopters for large-scale pest control in rice and field crop complexes, 3 agricultural drones, 15 agricultural forklifts to improve work efficiency, and 11 grain dryers.
The city has secured a project budget of 500 million KRW, including 140 million KRW from provincial funds and 310 million KRW from city funds, supporting up to 50% of the supply price of agricultural machinery.
Mayor Kang In-gyu stated, “We will do our best to solve labor shortages caused by rural population decline and aging through agricultural machinery support and improve agricultural productivity. We will continue to discover and implement various farming support policies to stabilize farm income and enhance agricultural competitiveness.”
Meanwhile, since 2017 until last year, the city has supported 70 units of agricultural machinery worth 920 million KRW, including 36 agricultural forklifts, 16 drones, and 14 grain dryers, to farmers and farming corporations.
