Government: "North Korea Also Recognizes the Need for a Ceasefire Declaration... A Starting Point for North Korea-US Dialogue"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] North Korea issued a statement saying that the 'End of War Declaration' proposed by President Moon Jae-in is premature, but the government has expressed its intention to continue pursuing it.
An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on the 24th, "North Korea also acknowledges the necessity of the End of War Declaration and has already agreed to it in the Panmunjom Declaration and the Pyongyang Joint Declaration."
The official added, "The United States has recently been continuously emphasizing that it has no hostile intent toward North Korea and has expressed its willingness to engage in dialogue on all issues unconditionally at any time. We believe that the End of War Declaration will demonstrate this intention through action and serve as an opportunity to start North Korea-US talks."
