According to the county on the 17th, to detect COVID-19 cases early, a screening clinic has been operating within the county office since January last year, and a temporary screening testing site was established at Namak Complex Community Center in April, currently operating two locations.
In particular, to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, COVID tests were conducted regardless of the place of residence, and as a result of testing 20,689 cases last month alone, 19 confirmed cases were found, including 5 in Muan-gun and 8 in Mokpo City.

Currently, vaccination centers are operating at two locations: Muan Sports Park and Namak Residents Multipurpose Sports Hall, achieving a first-dose vaccination rate of 71% and a completion rate of 47.4% relative to the total population, showing a higher vaccination rate compared to the national completion rate of 41.8%.
Additionally, the county selected high-risk groups for COVID-19 infection, such as delivery workers, transportation workers, public hygiene business workers, and public institution civil service workers, as autonomous vaccination targets for local governments and actively promoted early vaccination. For foreigners without registration certificates, the health center issues temporary management numbers to enable vaccination, and Janssen vaccine shots are being administered to those who wish.
Governor Kim San said, “We are making efforts to overcome COVID-19 by deploying three nursing staff from the health center to COVID response duties last month and operating the screening clinic normally within the county office even during the Chuseok holiday,” and added, “As the spread of infectious diseases continues, please strictly follow social distancing and quarantine rules.”
