Milal Welfare Foundation Giving Plus Provides Emergency Living Support Kits to 500 Vulnerable Households
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] Giving Plus, operated by the Milal Welfare Foundation, announced on the 16th that it delivered emergency livelihood support kits worth 170 million KRW called 'Jasang Han Sangja' to 500 vulnerable households in celebration of Chuseok.
The kits were delivered on the 15th to households of disabled persons and elderly living alone in urgent need of support through district offices and community centers in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Daegu regions. To support vulnerable groups struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, each box contained food and daily necessities worth approximately 350,000 KRW. 'Jasang Han Sangja' means a box containing donated items from caring companies practicing 'voluntary coexistence.'
Sixteen companies participated by donating their products, including Sempio Foods, Bon I F, NutriOne, Korea McNulty, Lotte Confectionery, Global BMS, Fine Food, Korea SNS Operators Association, KD Company, LUK, Oasis Bridge, Vita Bio, CMIX, Donggubat, Head Spa 7, and Raeoi Economy.
Kim In-jong, head of Giving Plus at the Milal Welfare Foundation, said, "Despite the difficult times due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we are grateful to the companies that generously donated goods for neighbors who are having a harder time than themselves. We will continue to serve as a bridge between vulnerable groups in blind spots and companies wishing to engage in social contribution, doing our best to create various social values."
Meanwhile, Giving Plus of the Milal Welfare Foundation is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) specialized sharing store that employs vulnerable groups and protects the environment through resource circulation by selling donated new products from companies. Since November last year, it has been connecting companies practicing social contribution with vulnerable groups through the 'Jasang Han Sangja' campaign.
