Nam-gu announced on the 16th, "To eradicate unreasonable practices such as power abuse in the workplace and create a horizontal organizational culture where everyone enjoys, we will promote projects including operating a visiting power abuse counseling desk and encouraging compliments among colleagues through telephone call ringtones."
First, the "Mutual Respect Day," which had been held once a month, will be expanded to twice a month.
Since March, Nam-gu has been striving to establish a culture of mutual respect by encouraging the use of honorific language and refraining from spreading rumors, so that all employees, regardless of rank, can respect each other as equal individuals rather than in a superior-subordinate relationship. This has been promoted through practical activities in daily life, sending text messages to all employees, and posting pop-up windows.
Along with this, to eradicate power abuse acts using superior status and authority, a "visiting power abuse counseling desk" will be operated starting this month.
In particular, to guarantee anonymity and reduce the burden of reporting and whistleblowing power abuse, the counseling desk will be available not only at the main office but also at 17 district administrative welfare centers and for workers performing private consignment and subsidy projects supervised by the district office, aiming to expand the eradication of power abuse culture.
Additionally, a call connection tone system that does not spare compliments and respect among employees when using internal administrative phone lines will be established to promote the daily practice of a culture of mutual respect.
A Nam-gu official stated, "When a culture that respects the dignity of others and warmly cares for them is established, unity among members is formed. Since organizational competitiveness and efficient operation stem from mutual respect, we will do our best to create a happy workplace culture."
