Police Conduct Search and Seizure at Construction Company Over 'Park Deokheum Favoritism Contract Suspicion'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] The police conducted a search and seizure of a construction company in which the family of independent lawmaker Park Deok-heum holds shares, in connection with allegations of preferential awarding of government contracts.
According to the police on the 16th, the Anti-Corruption and Public Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency executed a search warrant at Construction Company A located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the 14th.

This is the second time the police have launched a forced investigation related to allegations of preferential contract awards involving lawmaker Park. Earlier, on May 31, the police searched the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Urban Infrastructure Headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul. Park, who served as a member of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee from April 2015 to May 2020, is suspected of winning government contracts worth several hundred billion won through a family-owned construction company.
