According to the Office of Education on the 15th, this visit was carried out to spread a culture of sharing and donation and to foster a warm social culture. Considering the social distancing situation due to COVID-19, a minimal number of people including Superintendent Jang Hwi-guk visited the ‘Baramgaekkikkumteo Public Local Children’s Center (Gwangsan-gu)’, ‘Holder Local Children’s Center (Seo-gu)’, ‘Lorencia House (Gwangsan-gu)’, ‘Gwiil Dandelion House (Nam-gu)’, and ‘Hyocheon Haenuri Local Children’s Center (Nam-gu)’. Superintendent Jang delivered essential daily necessities such as rice, toilet paper, and detergent needed for facility operations and encouraged the facility staff.
In particular, this time they also visited the ‘Baramgaekkikkumteo Public Local Children’s Center’ located in the Goryeoin Village in Wolgok-dong, Gwangsan-gu, where descendants of Koreans who migrated to the Maritime Province during the Japanese colonial period and were forcibly deported to Central Asia by the former Soviet Union live as a community, sharing warm affection.
Superintendent Jang Hwi-guk said, “During holidays like Chuseok, those living in facilities away from their families may feel even more isolated. Although everyone is facing difficulties due to COVID-19, it is at times like these that I ask for much attention and action so that neighbors in need around us can have a warm holiday, and I hope that our society’s interest, warmth, and culture of sharing will spread widely.”
