Goheung-gun Women's Association Holds 'Love-Filled Package' Sharing Event for Chuseok
Warm Neighborly Love Delivered to 300 Households Including Elderly Living Alone
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Jeonnam Goheung-gun Women's Association Council (President Kim Young-soon) announced on the 15th that more than 30 members from 10 women's organizations participated in a 'Love-filled Package' sharing event at the Women's Support Center ahead of the Chuseok holiday, delivering packages to elderly living alone and vulnerable households in the area.
This event was organized to support vulnerable groups in need of warmth around them during Chuseok, replacing the annual Women's Association Unity Pledge Meeting. The packages, carefully packed with eight types of food including bananas, ramen, canned peaches, yugwa (traditional Korean sweets), seasoned seaweed flakes, and canned tuna, were delivered to 300 households with visits to check on their well-being.
The Women's Association Council (President Kim Young-soon) said, "Although it is difficult due to COVID-19, we hope many people will have a bountiful Chuseok with these heartfelt packages," adding, "We will continue to be a women's association council that approaches those in need with sincerity."
Song Gwi-geun, the county governor, who attended to offer encouragement, said, "We thank the members of the women's organizations who participated in the sharing event," and added, "Although everyone is tired and struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, let us overcome this crisis well by embracing our neighbors with hearts that care for each other."

Meanwhile, the Women's Association Council has been steadily conducting volunteer activities to bring hope and love to neighbors in need, with 17,000 members from 10 women's organizations participating annually. These activities include last year's 'Mask Wearing Campaign and Making Masks of Love Volunteer Work' and this year's relay volunteer work at the COVID-19 vaccination center.
