Gwangyang Economic Zone Authority, Chuseok Holiday Welfare Facility Visit
Delivered daily necessities to Masil Daycare Center and expressed gratitude to facility staff for their hard work
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Song Sang-rak, Commissioner of the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority, along with union members (Oh Ha-geun, Union Chairman; Lee Kwang-il, Member; Kim Tae-gyun, Member) visited local social welfare facilities on September 13-14 ahead of the traditional Korean holiday Chuseok to offer their support.
The visits were conducted with a minimal number of personnel and strict visitation procedures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Song Sang-rak and Oh Ha-geun visited the Masil Daycare Center located in Suncheon City, delivering daily necessities such as rice and wet wipes, and expressed gratitude and encouragement to the facility staff for their hard work.
Kim Tae-gyun visited facilities including the Gwangyang Association of the Visually Impaired to deliver consolation gifts and encouraged the facility workers dedicated to serving marginalized neighbors.
Lee Kwang-il visited the Dolsan Regional Children's Center in Yeosu City and one other location, delivering rice and daily necessities, and encouraged the staff who are doing their best for the children despite difficult circumstances.
Commissioner Song said, “As social distancing due to COVID-19 has prolonged, many people deeply miss the care and affection of their neighbors. I hope this warm Chuseok will be a time to look around, share love, and show sincere care for one another.”
