Renault Group Vice Chairman Meets Busan Mayor to Promote Future Car Ecosystem Development
Infrastructure Development and Administrative and Financial Support for Future Eco-Friendly Vehicle Development
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Renault Samsung Motors and Busan Metropolitan City have agreed to jointly work on building a future car ecosystem and creating jobs.
On the 15th, according to Renault Samsung, Fran?ois Provost, Vice Chairman in charge of International Development and Cooperation at Renault Group, along with President Dominic Signora, met with Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon at Busan City Hall and agreed to collaborate on future car strategies and job creation.
According to the agreement, Renault Samsung and Busan will develop the future car industry, one of the nation's Big 3 industries, as a core industry of Busan by utilizing production facilities and sites within the Renault Samsung Busan plant to build an ecosystem for the future car strategic industry.
To this end, Renault Samsung will establish infrastructure for ecosystem participants such as key parts suppliers for future eco-friendly vehicle development and will also strive for regional coexistence and youth job creation. Additionally, Busan City will provide administrative and financial support to participating companies and consortia to enable ecosystem formation centered around the Renault Samsung Busan plant.

Meanwhile, since Mayor Park's inauguration in April, Renault Samsung and Busan have continued discussions on Busan's future car strategy. Following this agreement, both parties plan to form a public-private joint task force team (TFT) to discuss detailed business implementation plans and schedules going forward.
