Recruitment for 'Process Evaluation Type Qualification' Course After NCS Training and Certification Acquisition
September 16 to October 6... Recruitment for Specialized High Schools and Others
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Ministry of Employment and Labor announced on the 15th that, together with the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, it will recruit for next year's 'Process Evaluation Type National Technical Qualification Education and Training Courses' from the 16th of this month until the 6th of next month. Regular educational institutions such as specialized high schools, military educational institutions, and public institutions are being recruited.
Introduced in 2015, this system supports those who complete field-oriented education and training based on the National Competency Standards (NCS) to obtain national technical qualifications. NCS is a standardized system of knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to perform tasks in the industrial field. According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor, those who have obtained process evaluation type certificates adapt relatively quickly to fieldwork, resulting in high corporate satisfaction.
Next year, a total of 178 categories, including 14 new categories, will be accepted. Starting next year, to reflect field demand, 'self-organized curriculum' will be allowed. Along with essential theoretical education such as engineering and law, it is expected that new technical education not developed by NCS can also be conducted. The internal evaluation method for the self-organized curriculum will also change from a scoring system to a 'pass/fail system.'
Institutions wishing to participate can apply on the Process Evaluation Type Qualification website. Instructions on how to fill out the application form can be found in the 'Process Evaluation Type Qualification Designation Evaluation Application Form Manual' video or in the recruitment announcement. Next year's operating courses will be finalized and announced at the end of the year after document screening, on-site evaluation, and review by the National Technical Qualification Policy Committee.
Ryu Kyung-hee, Director of the Vocational Competency Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Employment and Labor, said, "We will strive to vitalize the qualification system so that more holders of process evaluation type qualifications can demonstrate practical skills in companies."
