Korea Press Foundation Provides Support Worth 7 Billion KRW to Local Media and Others
Support in the form of public service advertisements and news copyright fees
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Press Foundation announced on the 15th that they will implement a support measure worth 7 billion KRW to help local media struggling due to COVID-19. As in the previous year, 5 billion KRW will be spent on public service advertisements. The support targets approximately 1,500 media outlets with government advertising transactions last year (including local print media, local and small-to-medium broadcasting media, and internet newspapers). Media outlets wishing to apply can do so online by the 1st of next month. The remaining 2 billion KRW will be paid as news copyright fees to media outlets participating in the online newspaper utilization education program (e-NIE). The Korea Press Foundation will distribute e-NIE free of charge to about 6,500 elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide.
