Changwon City Launches Nationwide Civic Movement to Attract National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art
Changwon City, Gyeongnam, held the launch ceremony of the "National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Changwon Branch Attraction Pan-Citizen Movement Headquarters," which incorporates metaverse technology.

Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 14th that it has formed the 'Pan-Citizen Movement Headquarters for Attracting the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Changwon Branch' and held an inauguration ceremony.
The event was attended by Mayor Heo Seong-mu, Chairman Lee Chi-woo of the Changwon City Council, and about 40 representatives from various sectors of the pan-citizen movement headquarters.
Additionally, 15 citizen supporters who accessed the metaverse platform attended the virtual inauguration ceremony to celebrate the birth of the pan-citizen movement headquarters.
The city incorporated next-generation technology, the metaverse, into the inauguration ceremony to showcase the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Changwon Branch, which is being prepared with the goal of a 'smart technology-based future-type art museum,' in line with the museum's concept.
The pan-citizen movement headquarters consists of representatives from 40 organizations and groups across various fields such as culture and arts, education, industry, finance, labor, women, the elderly, sports, veterans, environment, and autonomous organizations, as well as 30 members from the existing National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Changwon Branch Attraction Promotion Committee. Professor Hwang Mu-hyun of Masan University and Deputy Mayor Jeong Hye-ran serve as co-heads of the headquarters.
Members will carry out promotional activities in their respective fields to create a favorable atmosphere for attracting the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Changwon Branch.
Through this, they are expected to contribute to raising positive public opinion by informing the advantages and justifications for the attraction and actively participating in attraction activities as representatives of each sector.
