LG Electronics Hosts Robot Process Automation Competition for Partners
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] LG Electronics held an RPA (Robotic Process Automation) competition to support its partners in adopting RPA technology.
On the 13th, LG Electronics held the 'Partner Company RPA Competition' via video conference and shared best practices with its partners, the company announced on the 14th. The event was attended by Lee Siyong, Head of LG Electronics Purchasing & SCM Management Center, representatives from 21 partner companies, and RPA managers.
RPA is a technology that automates repetitive and standardized tasks previously performed by humans using software robots. By adopting RPA, partners can reduce simple tasks and focus on more valuable work. LG Electronics evaluated the RPA solutions developed by partners based on differentiation, operational stability, and scalability, selecting eight outstanding cases and awarding LG OLED TVs, LG Objet Refrigerators, LG Gram laptops, among others.

Shinsung Delta Tech automated material management tasks, enabling accurate and convenient management of materials without manually comparing data. Material management personnel can now focus on more valuable tasks rather than repetitive and simple work.
The RPA developed by DK automated the creation of inspection certificates using quality inspection data. It eliminated defects caused by operator errors and reduced a task that previously took over five hours daily to under 30 minutes. Other partners also introduced RPA in various fields such as production, quality, sales, HR, and development, improving work efficiency.
Since 2018, LG Electronics has been supporting its partners in adopting RPA to enhance work productivity. To date, 63 LG Electronics partners have implemented RPA.
In particular, LG Electronics established a systematic RPA promotion system for partners in the first half of this year to enable more partners to adopt RPA. LG Electronics' RPA experts visit partners directly to transfer LG Electronics' know-how throughout the entire RPA process, from task discovery to detailed task-specific RPA development and maintenance. In the first half of this year, 12 partners participating in RPA development nurtured 49 RPA experts and introduced 132 RPAs into their operations.
