Mokwon University Launches RIS Regional Innovation Project Group... Promoting 'Mobility Sharing University' and More
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Mokwon University Regional Innovation Project Group was launched on the 13th. According to Mokwon University, the project group is responsible for supporting the Regional Innovation Project (RIS) based on cooperation between local governments and universities.
RIS is a Ministry of Education-led project that supports local governments, regional universities, companies, and research institutes in establishing cooperative systems to jointly nurture talent and enable employment or entrepreneurship at excellent local companies, in order to achieve policy goals such as regional innovation and national balanced development.
Earlier, in May, the Ministry of Education selected 24 universities in the Chungcheong region including Mokwon University, along with 69 regional innovation institutions such as research institutes, public institutions, and companies in Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungnam as targets for the Daejeon-Sejong-Chungnam Regional Innovation Platform Project.
Taking this opportunity, the Mokwon University Regional Innovation Project Group will promote two projects in the mobility materials, parts, and equipment sector, which is a core local industry, one project in the ICT sector, and the operation of a shared university.
Additionally, among the detailed tasks of this project, the group will lead the task of ‘Establishing a Living Lab-based Startup Platform for Regional Innovation,’ and participate in tasks such as establishing an intelligent electronic control system convergence major and operating joint curricula, as well as nurturing software and artificial intelligence convergence talents and regional experts.
The Mokwon University Regional Innovation Project Group will be supported administratively through the establishment of an organizational system and operation regulations, with Shin Yeol, Vice President for External Cooperation (Director), leading, along with Lee Hee-hak, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Yeo Sang-su, Director of Planning and Budget, and Jeong Cheol-ho, Director of Industry-Academic Cooperation.
