Jangseong-gun to Implement 'Chuseok Holiday Special Quarantine Measures' Until the 26th
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Doo-seok) announced on the 13th that it will implement special quarantine measures until the 26th ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
The county is strengthening quarantine inspections of multi-use facilities, welfare facilities, and tourist sites in the region, and screening clinics are being operated at Baekyangsa Rest Area Downbound Line and the public health center, allowing anyone to receive diagnostic tests.
The decisive reason for weakened quarantine during the holiday period is ‘population movement,’ and the influx of external populations as well as visits by local residents to outside areas can increase the possibility of regional spread of infectious diseases.
Individual restraint from traveling to other regions becomes the ‘first button’ of quarantine.
The county is emphasizing to the local community to refrain from traveling such as visiting hometowns and traveling as much as possible this Chuseok as well, and if it is unavoidable to visit hometowns, it recommends completing vaccination before the visit and receiving diagnostic tests upon arrival.
Emergency situations that may occur during the holiday period will be promptly responded to by organizing a comprehensive situation team with five divisions.
The county will conduct special quarantine inspections focusing on infection-vulnerable facilities from today until the 17th, before the start of the holiday.
Until the end of the holiday on the 26th, thorough quarantine inspections will also be conducted on restaurants, nursing facilities, traditional markets, workplaces employing foreigners, public sports facilities, and tourist sites.
In particular, a one-on-one dedicated public official system will be applied to major multi-use facilities for focused management.
Governor Yoo Doo-seok said, “We aim to protect the safety of 50,000 residents through thorough quarantine management and create a Yellow City Jangseong where people can feel safe from COVID-19,” and added, “We ask for the active participation and cooperation of all residents.”
Meanwhile, nursing hospitals and facilities in the Jangseong area will allow visits by prior reservation until the 26th, and visitors who have completed vaccination can have contact visits.
Major tourist sites such as Jangseongho Lakeside Trail will be open, but personal quarantine rules must be strictly followed during visits. All public sports facilities in the region will be fully closed from the 18th to the 26th, and libraries will operate with a 50% capacity limit except for closure days (20th to 22nd).
