The COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team announced on the 13th that this was the result of a weekly analysis of suspected adverse reaction cases reported since the start of vaccinations up to now (as of midnight on the 12th).
Kim Ki-nam, head of the Vaccination Planning Division of the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team, explained, "Out of a total of 51,832,703 vaccinations, 215,501 adverse reactions (23,649 newly reported cases in week 28) have been reported, resulting in a reporting rate of 0.42% (first dose 0.49%, second dose 0.29%). The reporting rate of adverse reactions after vaccination has been maintained at a lower level compared to the early stages of vaccination."
Among the reported cases, common adverse reactions such as muscle pain and headache accounted for 95.8% (206,395 cases), while serious adverse reactions accounted for 4.2% (9,106 cases).
The reporting rate by vaccine was highest for Janssen at 0.60%, followed by Moderna at 0.56% (first dose 0.53%, second dose 0.64%), AstraZeneca at 0.49% (first dose 0.73%, second dose 0.19%), and Pfizer at 0.33% (first dose 0.32%, second dose 0.36%).
Kim said, "Those receiving the vaccination should remain at the vaccination site for 15 to 30 minutes after vaccination to monitor for any adverse reactions, and even after returning home, they should carefully observe themselves for at least 3 hours. Special attention should be paid for at least 3 days after vaccination, and if high fever or unusual physical symptoms occur, medical consultation should be sought."
