Gwangju Nam-gu Council Member Park Yonghwa's 'Urban Regeneration Activation Ordinance' Passes Standing Committee
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the 13th, Nam-gu Council member Park Yong-hwa announced that the 'Partial Amendment to the Ordinance on the Revitalization and Support of Urban Regeneration in Nam-gu' was approved at the related Social Construction Committee.
The ordinance allows administrative and financial support for the establishment of a 'Village Management Cooperative' and securing its self-sustainability to ensure the lasting effects of urban regeneration projects.
It also includes support measures to help the cooperative secure revenue sources and operate independently, and at this time, the district mayor can entrust the management of projects or facilities managed and operated by the district office to the cooperative.
The projects eligible for entrusted management include village maintenance projects such as housing management and repair services, programs for cultural arts to revitalize the village, activation of the local economy and creation of local jobs, village management, and operation and management of public parking lots within the urban regeneration project area.
