Vice Minister Choi Jong-moon Visits Qatar and Oman, Discusses Cooperation Measures
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] Choi Jong-moon, the 2nd Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, will visit Qatar and Oman, key partner countries in the Middle East Gulf region, from the 13th to the 16th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
Vice Minister Choi plans to meet with high-ranking officials of both countries to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and regional situations.
During this Middle East visit, Vice Minister Choi intends to express gratitude to the Qatari government for its cooperation regarding the recent Afghanistan situation and discuss related cooperation measures.
The government temporarily conducts Afghanistan-related affairs at the embassy in Qatar after withdrawing all embassy staff from Afghanistan on the 17th of last month.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expects this visit to strengthen the bilateral cooperation base with Qatar, which is actively conducting diplomacy related to the Afghanistan situation, and Oman, which supports the Cheonghae Unit's activities.
