4 Additional COVID-19 Cases in the Military...Total 1,660 Confirmed
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The Ministry of National Defense announced on the 12th that four additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed within the military.
An Army officer in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, an Army soldier in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, and an Army soldier in Daegu tested positive after undergoing diagnostic tests during leave. Additionally, a Seoul-based Army active reservist tested positive in a test conducted before the end of self-quarantine after being isolated due to a close contact testing positive.
The Army officer in Paju and the Army soldier in Gangneung were breakthrough infections confirmed two weeks after receiving the recommended doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. The total number of similar cases within the military has risen to 102. The Seoul active reservist had received the first dose of the vaccine, while the Army soldier in Daegu was unvaccinated.
