[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Singer Lee Sun-hee's fan club delivered Chuseok consolation gifts to the Yongsan Welfare Foundation ahead of the Chuseok holiday. This was to share warm hearts with marginalized neighbors during the festive season.
The consolation gift delivery ceremony held at the foundation on the 9th was attended by members of Lee Sun-hee's fan club and officials from the Yongsan Welfare Foundation.
The items sponsored by the fan club consisted of health supplements and fruits as Chuseok consolation gifts. They are scheduled to be delivered to 20 low-income households in the area through the resident centers of Huam-dong, Yongsan 2-ga-dong, Namyeong-dong, Cheongpa-dong, Wonhyo 1·2-dong, Hyochang-dong, and Yongmun-dong.
Fan club members stated, "We want to share the love of fans supporting the singing star Lee Sun-hee with the local community," explaining their reason for the donation.
Lee Sang-yong, chairman of the Yongsan Welfare Foundation, said, "We thank Lee Sun-hee's fan club for continuously engaging in sharing activities since signing a donation agreement for holiday consolation gifts with the Yongsan Welfare Foundation last September."
Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) Seokgwan-dong Resident Center (Director Lee Dae-hyun) and Seokgwan-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee shared welcome donation news for marginalized and struggling neighbors.
On the 8th, the first-term committee members of Seokgwan-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee (Chairman Kim Deok-hyun) expressed their intention to deliver 700kg of rice purchased with funds they raised to low-income elderly living alone and vulnerable groups in the area through the resident center.
The donated rice was purchased from Deokcheon-myeon, Jeongeup-si, a sister city recently signed an MOU with Seokgwan-dong, making it even more notable and reaffirming the meaning of strengthening exchanges between urban and rural areas.
Kim Deok-hyun, chairman of the Seokgwan-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee, said, "The committee will work together on local issues and carefully watch over neighbors who might be marginalized in the neighborhood," expressing infinite affection and love for the village and neighbors.
Lee Seung-ro, mayor of Seongbuk-gu, who attended the rice delivery event, said, "Despite the many COVID-19 cases in the area and the resulting economic difficulties, I am grateful that the Residents' Autonomy Committee actively participates in practicing neighborly love," and urged that the donated items be delivered well to neighbors in need ahead of the holiday.
