'School Violence' Lee Jae-young and Lee Da-young, Decision on Greece's Liss Entry to Be Made Soon
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Seoyoung] The decision on whether twin volleyball players Lee Jaeyoung and Lee Dayoung, who were expelled from the V-League due to a school violence scandal, will join the Greek league is expected to be made soon.
On the 10th, the volleyball community announced that the Turkish agency promoting the twins' move to Greece plans to officially inquire with the FIVB regarding the Korea Volleyball Association's refusal to issue the International Transfer Certificate (ITC). The FIVB requires that a player's international transfer certificate be issued by only one volleyball association of the relevant country. However, if the FIVB approves, the twins will be able to play in the Greek league regardless of the Korea Volleyball Association's refusal to issue the ITC.
Previously, after the twins' former team, the women's professional volleyball team Heungkuk Life, gave up their player registration, the twins signed with a Turkish agency to continue their careers and reportedly agreed to join Greece's PAOK Thessaloniki. However, during the visa issuance process, the Greek embassy requested the volleyball association's transfer certificate, preventing the twins from going to Greece.
The volleyball association has maintained its position that it cannot issue the ITC to the twins based on its own regulations regarding international transfers that specify the qualifications for domestic players to move abroad. According to the regulations, those who have been disciplined by related volleyball organizations such as the Korea Olympic Committee (KOC), the association, or affiliated federations, and whose disciplinary period has not expired, or those who have caused social controversy or significant damage to volleyball through sexual violence, match-fixing, draft evasion, or other disgraceful acts, are restricted from moving abroad.

Earlier, in February, the twins became the center of controversy after it was revealed through an online community that they were perpetrators of school violence. The victim described 21 cases of harm, claiming to have suffered severe physical and psychological damage from the twins during their school years. In response, the volleyball association indefinitely revoked the twins' national team qualifications. The twins admitted to the wrongdoing and posted an official apology on their personal social media accounts. However, this apology has recently been deleted.
