COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund, 62% of Eligible Recipients Received in 5 Days

According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 11th, the cumulative number of applicants for the support fund over the five days from the 6th to the 10th was 26,907,000, with a cumulative payment amount of 6.7266 trillion KRW. The Ministry's provisional count of eligible recipients for the national support fund is 43.26 million. Based on this, it was identified that 62.2% of all eligible recipients applied for and received the support fund. This corresponds to 52.0% of the total population.
By payment method, 24.096 million people (89.6%) used credit or debit cards, and 2.81 million people (10.4%) used local love gift certificates. By region, Gyeonggi had the highest number of applicants with 7.308 million (payment amount 1.82702 trillion KRW), followed by Seoul with 4.776 million (1.19405 trillion KRW), Incheon with 1.819 million (454.85 billion KRW), and Busan with 1.772 million (442.93 billion KRW).
The national support fund provides 250,000 KRW per person to 88% of the population in the lower income bracket. The weekday system based on the last digit of the birth year ended the day before, and from this day onward, online applications can be made regardless of birth year.

From the 13th, offline applications will also be accepted. During the first week of offline applications, the weekday system based on the last digit of the birth year will be applied. Those who want to receive the national support fund via credit or debit card should visit the bank linked to their card. To receive the fund via prepaid cards or paper-type local love gift certificates, applicants can visit the resident center of their local eup, myeon, or dong jurisdiction to apply.
