According to Jinju City on the 10th, the 2022 government budget proposal submitted on the 3rd included 476.3 billion KRW in national funds, an increase of 82.1 billion KRW compared to last year, allocated to promote Jinju City's major pending projects.
Mayor Jo made a surprise visit to the National Assembly on the 9th, just seven days after the government budget proposal was submitted to the Assembly, and is conducting one-on-one battles to secure national funds by meeting with committee chairpersons and affiliated lawmakers before the full review begins.
He asked Park Dae-chul, chairman of the Environment and Labor Committee, for cooperation in securing the budget linked to the JinYangho natural ecological cultural trail, which is being promoted to enhance the completeness of the JinYangho lakeside trail project nearing completion.
He also requested active cooperation at the National Assembly level from lawmaker Kang Min-guk for five projects including the Anrak Park construction project and the Daegok public sewage treatment expansion project. He then met sequentially with Lee Chae-ik, chairman of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee; Lee Heon-seung, chairman of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee; and Kim Tae-heum, chairman of the Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, Food, and Maritime Affairs Committee.
On the second day of the schedule, the 10th, he met with Hwang Seong-gyu, 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and proposed opening the old Jinju IC turnaround to improve traffic congestion at Sangpyeong Bridge and the construction of National Road No. 33 between Jinju Jeongchon and Sacheon Chukdong.
He then had a meeting with Choi Young-chang, chairman of the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation, at the Gyeongbokgung Palace Royal Culture Festival site, and conducted a briefing related to attracting national and public cultural facilities to Jinju City, carrying out a busy Seoul schedule with a detailed plan.

Mayor Jo Gyu-il stated, “If we work hard by going out directly, the budget will be further increased, and naturally, all Jinju citizens will benefit,” adding, “We will continue to respond well during the remaining period of the National Assembly.”
