Gwangju City Council Confirms 623.2 Billion Won Supplementary Budget Including Disaster Relief Funds
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju Metropolitan Council held the 2nd plenary session of the 301st extraordinary meeting and finalized the 2nd supplementary budget of Gwangju City amounting to 623.2 billion KRW.
The Gwangju Metropolitan Council announced on the 10th that it concluded the ten-day extraordinary meeting by passing a total of 45 agenda items, including 35 ordinances, 3 budget bills, 6 consents, and 1 item for opinion hearing.
This supplementary budget includes 306.6 billion KRW related to the COVID-19 coexistence national support fund, 11.3 billion KRW for low-income households' national support fund, and the total scale is 623.2 billion KRW.
The major ordinances passed this time include ▲Ordinance on Social Media Operation ▲Complete revision ordinance on fostering the beauty industry ▲Ordinance on Safety Management Support for Building Demolition Work ▲Ordinance on Regional Publishing Promotion, among others.
Chairman Kim Yong-jip stated, "The 2nd supplementary budget approved today will be thoroughly executed promptly to revitalize the local economy in crisis due to COVID-19 and to provide more substantial education in Gwangju."
He also emphasized, "As Gwangju Global Motors, which is about to launch the first car Casper, the first regional win-win job model in Korea, we must all unite our strength and capabilities so that it can leap forward as a competitive automobile company based on labor-management coexistence."
