Jeju Police Launch 'Chuseok Holiday Comprehensive Security Operations' Starting the 13th
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Police Agency (Chief Kang Hwangsoo) announced on the 10th that it will carry out a "Comprehensive Security Operation for the Chuseok Holiday" from the 13th to the 22nd to create a peaceful holiday atmosphere.
During this period, Jeju Police will maintain a rapid response system for emergency reports such as violent crimes, continue joint inspections with local governments targeting entertainment facilities related to COVID-19, and actively respond to reports of quarantine violations and administrative order breaches.
In collaboration with the road management authority, to prevent crowding, traffic management focused on smooth flow will be conducted on roads around ports and airports, major tourist sites, and large marts, along with continuous day and night sobriety checkpoints to crack down on accident causes and traffic disorderly conduct.
The police plan to strengthen patrols focusing on crime-prone times and locations by analyzing 112 emergency calls and crime occurrences during last year’s Chuseok holiday.
Monitoring of households at risk of repeated domestic violence and abuse will be intensified, and in case of incidents, related departments will collaborate to actively handle cases while focusing on victim protection.
To eradicate burglary and theft during the holiday period, the "Summer Season Burglary and Professional Theft Crackdown Period" will be operated until the 30th.
To prevent chronic malicious violence from threatening residents’ daily lives, proactive and preventive criminal activities will be conducted against violent acts in daily life, and strict measures will be taken against crimes infringing on ordinary citizens’ lives.
Chief Kang Hwangsoo said, “We will concentrate all police capabilities on comprehensive security operations so that residents can have a safe and comfortable Chuseok holiday.”
